Well it's almost ready to begin racing... just waiting for the tranny and rear diff ... then electrical throughout... but the main items are in place and it's begininning to come together...
I thought I would share some of the pictures with you all... The truck is radically different than most of the other trucks in this division... Trophy Trucks are normally big and heavy... this one is going to be light and nimble...
We have approx. 27" of travel at each wheel... it is fully independent suspension... A radical change from the regualr automatics that most all are running and even the manuals that some other, including ourselves, have been running.
We are going to continue to run the 4.5L V6 that we have always ran... we are just turning up the power a little... Closer to 600hp now instead of the 500hp that we normally try to stay around.
The body panels are a combination of a Ford front end and Toyota panels from the cab back... we were going for a Toyota sponsorship earlier but discovered they didn't want to give much help or sponsorship towards the off-road arena.... so we went back to Ford. We will be covering up the Toyota emblems when it gets painted...
We made everything on this truck in regards to the body and suspension... Tranny, Motor,... things like that are made by custom shops... We are trying to get some true 39" tires to run ... Our design and specs leave us with very tight tolerances... to large of a tires means rubbing and clearance isssues... to small of a tire causes us to drag the ground... or possibly drag the ground... We'll see in a race application what it really does...
