So I had my transmission rebuilt and modified now its acting weird and me and the mechanic are about to beat our brains out trying to figure it out so here is what it is doing. If you unhook the batteries let it sit for about a minute and rehook them it will shift fine as long as you don't turn the truck off then after you shut it off and restart it will start acting up it will rev way up on the first shift and wont shift til 3,000 rpm and every shift after that is a high rev one so to speak and it won't downshift properly once i stop at a stop light and accelerate it won't shift down to first just stays stuck in second and shifts up from there. The trans is an E4OD the scanner told us the throttle position sensor was out so we replaced it then we figured out someone screwed with the bracket and messed it up so after some readjusting its back right. We test drove it and it did fine til we stopped and took off again only this time instead of revving to 3k rpm it shifted at 2500. Weirdest part to me is there is no trans slip at all just wont shift right can anyone please give me an idea of what it could be

i believe 1.2

that's the problem. that is the upper limit for the idle setting. try backing it down to around .98-1.0V and go from there. if it is still shifting to late, lower it some more. others will chime in on what the specs should be. i should no since i am currently working on mine.

First of all a few questions.
Is the OD light blinking when driving?

Did he set the TPS voltage between .96 & 1.2 in the idle position?

Is the TPS voltage 3.5 to 4.5 at WOT?

Is the Speedometer working without surgeing?

Is the Tach working Flawlessly?

When you disconnected the batteries it cancelled all the codes.

The light only blinks when your slowing down and stops once the truck stops not sure on the exact voltages I sent him a text to see whats up speedo works great but the rpm works after about 600 rpm most of the time it just sits there on zero

Go to the Ford dealer to get it. It's pretty sad that the guy who rebuilt the trans cant figure it out when it should have been obvious to him on a test drive about the tach having a problem.

If the tach sensor does not solve the problem take a look at the connection on the PCM and make sure their are no broken pins.
