Idleing at 40 seems high but run it. Can't really hurt it running that pressure.

Yeah that must be cold. I have seen as low as 8 on a HOT idle on a high mileage engine. That doesn't worry me one bit. On that same engine I saw 35 going down the road, not as high as some but the engine was long in the tooth. I think it was a 93.

The location that you read your oil pressure from makes a huge difference. Mine used to be tapped in down by the oil filter, I'd see 40-45 psi at speed, 25 hot idle, and in excess of 60 cold. Now, it's tapped into the turbo supply line, 25 psi at speed, 15 idle.

mine is tapped into the top of the oil supply on the turbo i see about 45-50 as speed and about 25-30 at hot idle.

my worthless stock guage shows between the low line and the n idling hot and on the r going down the road
