oil pressure gauge swinging

97, 7.3 PSD, 316,000 miles. Recently traded for this truck a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday while driving around Dallas for parts noticed the oil pressure gauge swinging between 1/2 way then down to the lower end of the white on the gauge. Kept an eye on it and it drops when accelerating. If i sit in neutral and run the engine up and down between idle and 2k it doesn't swing that much, but when i drive it in gear, same rpms, it swings and really bothers me. It is full of oil and oil change was just done less than 1000 miles ago.
This has me worried and ANY help would be appreciated.

1. Do a search about ford oil pressure gauges.
2. Buy a real gauge.
