Hmmmm.... well, if it had been in a wreck it would probably be on a PSD powered roll back. I guess seeing how she's injured but not dead, I can live with it. -cuss

Dyed oil? Like that's going to help any? It's already dyed. cookoo

Mel, I think their intent was to dye it neon orange and use a blacklight. At least thats what I was told.

After my day today with the PSD, I'm ready to take my chances on my truck in its " as in" condition. Did you know those things have a kill switch when they run low on oil? Now you would think that after dealing with my truck I would think to check the oil. Stupid me figures since my friends hubby is a " know it all mechanic" the darn thing would be maintained fairly well. Apparently he leaves that up to her, and when asked this afternoon " do you know where your dipstick is?" and getting a blank look for a good 2 minutes then a triumphant shreik of " YES! I had to use it once when it did that thing to me too!" -- well now I know why it did " that thing" to me also.

I crank it up this am, let it warm up while I feed the horses and goats ( takes about 10 minutes) and then go to leave. Pull off the driveway to the road and the truck starts acting like its running out of fuel, sputtering, shuddering, and the check engine light comes on. So I pull over, or try to and it dies in the middle of the road. I tried to recrank it- turned over but thats it. So I call my friend, all the while thinking " I apparently can tear up anything" and she says " Oh, it probably needs oil." So I check it, needs oil was an understatement. I got in enough to get it cranked again, drove it to town, and filled it up. So later, while at her house, she says " it does that to me sometimes, I usually put in about 2 bottles and its fine for a few weeks." Thats when I asked if she knew where the dipstick was. She was really suprised when I told her I had to put 8 " bottles" in to get it to the fill mark. I think she was more suprised to learn that stick HAS a fill mark. Yes, she is a blonde lol

So anyhow, on to my problem child..... They put 2 gallons of oil in it to move it, got it on the rack, and it dumped 2 gallons of oil on their heads. They said its definantly coming from the topside of the engine, so they are taking the turbo off and the intake manifold, and replacing that gasket. And they found a bolt laying on the intake pan that came from an unspecified location. I guess they will call us back and let us know what they find from there on out.....

Makes sense! can't remember who said it had a kill switch... probably her hubby.... this being the man who argued with me about my truck being a PSD and that the " PSD and ID whatever are the same thing"

Trust me, you are better off without that introduction. And I may be worse than Travis, but at least I didn't wimp out and buy a Dodge! :D
