oil gauge or pump problem

On my 7.3 idi i went and replaced the oil pressure sensor because the gauge wasn't readin right, but the gauge still pegs out like its getting a too much pressure and it does it all the time. Is it my gauge or is it my oil pump.

You might want to test it with a manual guage. Factory guages are very poor (at best), the sensors are garbage also.

X2 on get a real gauge......mine works correctly 95% of the time, but that 5% it shows either no pressure, or will be on the very high side of normal....the aftermarket gauge is pretty consistant

It is a wiring problem.
