This is a thread that may be helpful, again thanks to OB and Towcat!!;Sweet

Enjoy,

Ps as posted by type4 "DO NOT silicone those gaskets ,they will split and leak. At the worst possible time. Those are made to be installed with nothing, very little contact glue if anything "

I have not had any problems, but...........I should do it again.

When I put my gaskets on I sprayed them with a little copper coat just to help hold them in place.

Lucky you were only 8 miles from home. Granted a tow is a tow, but it can get exponentially more expensive the farther you go.

Ya I got it towed home ($80) went to Green Sales and got 2 gaskets, 2 thick orings, and 4 smaller orings. Remember who ever does this in the future the smaller orings have a few different part numbers, but there all the same part.

The Gaskets Part numbers are
E3TZ6A636F
E3TZ6A636B

The two big Orings
1C3Z6C610BA

The 4 Smaller Orings
1C3Z6K649BA or E4TZ6K649A

Maybe add this to the parts bin?

A whole bunch of degreaser, and brake cleaner is needed, there is oil all up the sides of the truck and all the way back to the rear axle!

Any other parts needed to rebuild the Oil Cooler?

Oh no,

IIRC the Ford guys at the parts dept. said the 6 ring cooler has been replaced with the 4 ring. Just have to wait till you get yours out to see. Someone will know for sure, this is the one I got from Towcat for a painfully low price!

During assembly, this was the easy part, putting the log into the front header was a challenge for 2.

You must be registered for see images attach

Can't recall of anyone doing a 6 ring.

Good luck and check out the thread I posted earlier. It may be helpful.

You may have the wrong small rings, IIRC

I was talking about doing the same thing on another forum, and they went crazy saying how stupid it was to even think that would work.

I still think with some planning it could be done.

I bet you could come up with a system that would work just fine. But is it worth it is the question LOL
