obs dash question

On the passenger side, what all holds the dash up?

The lower bolt bracket at the bottom near the door jam has broken on the dash side.

I had pretty much the same thing happen a long time ago. The rattle finally got too much, and I had to do something.

I got it back in place and a lot more solid with some plumbers tape, some of that metal stuff used to hold pipes in place. The picture will explain it better.

I have a better picture of it somewhere, without the molding to hide things. I looked and can't find it. This will have to do.

Yes sir. It is posted a lot about over on F-T.

Common problem for the obs dash, kinda like the brace on the firewall for all our manual trucks. Yes a lot might not have it, but with enough time it will happen.

Im hoping with the OBS I pick up, its still good and I can do the tsb for it before it breaks.

I did this; maybe these picture will help you fix yours. I have some metal working equipment (shear, brake) but you should be able to hammer one out with more basic equipment. Unfortunately I did not make a drawing of the metal part

I think that is 16 gauge, satin galvanized (galvanneal). Very solid stuff.

Here is the Ford Part Number, ive seen it cheaper through Ford then that Bronco Graveyard link.

(Dash repair kit for right (passenger's) side dash mount. Frequently get broken. (Ford) F4TZ-1504366-A)

It used to be a sticky but I don't see it over there anymore, maybe it got moved. But here is a thread from a quick search over there that covers it all if you want to read about it over there. But it shows the same part number as I have for it in the thread.
