When you changed out the diff gears, did you change the speedo "driven gear" on trans or have the speedo recalibrated? Is the FSV returning unused fuel to the tank being used? My FSV is stuck and only returns to the rear tank. Maybe yours is returning to the front tank. OkieGringo

Okie, if his truck is anything like mine the spedo sensor exciter is bolted to the ring gear/carrier meaning it reads axle rpm totally indpendaint of gear raito. Only way to throw it off would be to change tire size.....

I'd suggest actually checking fuel mileage, rather than just guessing how full/empty the tank is. Cold weather and winter blend fuel can both cause a decrease in fuel mileage (longer warm up, more dense air to push through etc).
