No Idle

Anyone got any idea why a 88 7.3 wont want to idle Just put the junk ipump back on and seems to run ok but wont idle does the pump need to timed by tippin it, or might it be somthing else, I believe my lift pump is good.

Did you try setting the idle speed screw?

no did not touch that.

Turn it clockwise to increase the idle speed. Correct idle is 650 RPM.

Ok its been a while but I turned up the idle screw now diff could it be my cold start selonoid or bad fuel I have 33% oil in the fuel now or could it be a bad injector. Or what if my timeing is one tooth off.????

Are you running 1/3 WMO & if so are you filtering it before putting it in the tank?

No it is used motor oil, from a car.

thats what I thought your running waste motor oil. if you are going to do that you have to prefilter it to less than 10 microns which is what our stock filter is & run it through a water seperator. Otherwise you get a goooo in the filter that will cause very rough running & in a very short distance shut your motor down. Also do not use more than 5% waste synthetic oil try to only use mineral oil if you do & filter properly blends of over 90% wmo to dino are possible in warm weather.
