Ever since picking the truck up, my high idle hasn't worked. The timing advance definately kicks on when it's cold, you can hear the difference after it idles a couple minutes and goes back to normal. I have been trying to find my manuals, but since I moved, it's hard to remember where everything went to. If anyone can lead me in the right direction on checking it, I'd greatly appreciate it.

If you push the go pedal after its started does it engage?

Check the solenoid and make sure its not stuck and its getting power.

Will not engage with the go pedal, but the timing advance will. I can move the plunger at will by hand, but it won't stay out. I haven't tested for power, because I need the manual to find out how to trace it if I don't have power to it.

or un pluged, i have had mine fall off before

It's plugged in.

The power to that solenoid is the same power going to the cold idle advance on the pump. If you have juice there, you should have it at both places. Most likely either the connector is not making good contact, or the solenoid is shot.
