This weekend we added the third IDI to the Brewer truck stable. This is becoming an obsession!
Saturday morning my daughter and I set out for Lubbock, TX...about 285 miles each way. I have to say I think we picked the coldest day of the year! When we went through Clovis at about 1030, it was only 15 degrees. That's cold for these parts.
Anyway, we arrive in Lubbock to pick up the truck. The truck is a '91 F250 SC 4X4 5spd. This guy has put a lot of money in this thing. I added up the receipts he gave me and they came out to $5800 and change. I didn't give nearly that much and feel I got a smokin good deal.
This thing runs and drives like a top! Everything external on the engine has been replaced or rebuilt except the starter and alternator. All suspension bushings replaced, rancho shocks, Michelin tires...the list is long. However, as I told my daughter, it's "cosmetically challenged." 
The guy said he hadn't washed it the whole time he owned it. I believe him! Driving home smelled like I was in the back of my horse trailer after being on the road for 1000 miles. 
There's not a straight panel on the bed. It was so oxidized it looked purlple. After a full day of buffing on Sunday, it is once again dark blue. She thinks it's beautiful and that's what counts. This time I did take before pictures so I'll figure out how to get those on here some day.
After my wife drove it on Sunday, I was instructed to get the IP for her truck rebuilt while it is down for headwork. Her daughter's truck is NOT going to be more powerful than hers. Between these two I'll never get to tinker with my own truck!
The truck has some POS seat in it and no rear seat. Judging from the holes in the floor, it was originally a bucket seat/center console (XLT Lariat). If anyone has a line on a tan rear seat and front bucket setup for a '91 in very good condition, send me a PM.
Anyway, it was a long trip and the first roadtrip for my newly liscensed little girl. She did me proud. She got to drive it to school today to show her friends. What a week.
