new guy with a few questions

first off id like to say this is a great site i have been using it for a few months trying to decide on a psd or idi. i chose a 94 idit 4wd xclb e4od with a us gear set up i love the truck has some rust that i will be fixing shortly.
now for the questions truck runs great but id like to no the differance in the ip from a na to a turbo, reason iv found several na pumps an id like to get a spare pump to have mooseafied. secondly injectors what would be best for some performance but i dont want 5mpg either iv read about g an bb code injectors just having a herd time deciding whats best and where to get them an the moose pump would be extremely helpful. lastly i plan on a zf swap does the zf have to from an idi or can i use a 97 and older psd zf. i hate to ask questions but i have used the search bar with minimal results so any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for the long post just wanted to get every thing out there fore every one to see.

Welcome to the site! How bout some pics of the truck???? The Moose pump would be a good upgrade for you...So would the injectors...Both Mel (agnem) and Russ (typ4) offer excellent pop-matched BB code injectors at a good price. BB codes hands down...stay away from the G codes. Yes, you can use the ZF from 97 and older PSD's. If you are up for some slight modification to achieve better gear ratios, you can also use a ZF from a 460. if you go that route...search for the "typ4 mod".

yup that covers it, BB are about the only injector you can buy any more, and it is highly reccomended you buy new. remans are not the same quaility.

so far as i know the differance between a turbo and non turbo pump is the initial calibration of the unit. once you turn that fuel screw up the stock settings are out the window.

my BIL put a 93 IDI zf behind his powerstroke so anything in the 7.3 5 speed catagory should bolt up.

Welcome to the forum. A Moose pump or Baby Moose will wake up your engine. Install a set of Bb code injectors too at the same time. The new fuel injection system is an impressive change when these systems get around 100,000 miles on them. Mel does a great job with these pumps. Nobody has ever complained either. The cost is well within reason for what you get too. The better your pump is when you sent it in to Mel the cheaper the cost is. These was a time back a while ago where you could buy a pensacola pump for $275.00 & free shipping. Direct ship it to mel and he has a good unused pump to build from. His builder only replaces the worn parts plus... You get those worn parts back when the pump is returned to you. Thats quality customer care. Then about 4 months back Uhaul was selling pumps for really cheap... I think some guys got as many as 7 pumps because the price was around $170.00 each.... That was a deal too. They had beru glow plugs way cheap too and the solid state controllers were less than wholesale prices. They felt it was cheaper to sell off the inventory than it was to ship it to a centeral wharehouse.... We liked that thinking too.... Anyway.. Asking questions saves you from making mistakes. We have probably made all the mistakes that could ever be made with these trucks and engines... No questions are dumb questions either.....
