Just got it delivered today, it survived the 3 hour trek to my house, so i'm hopeful lol. XLT model, 4x4 auto. Rebuilt engine (he says), new transmission. It has a flacid steering wheel, but the actually suspension tracks great. Starts right up, all the lights and gauges work, both tanks work. Radio is an International radio, weird never seen that. It doesn't let me push any buttons, but it has power. No big deal. It's pouring and my garage bays are full but here's a picture :)

My plans are to swap the wheels/tires and front seat from the crew cab to begin with. Possibly the bed. What stupid Ford engineer decided to make SEVEN lug hub caps to put over EIGHT lug hubs? Someone very bored with their job apparently. The mirrors are a little floppy, but i have a spare set of mint condition ones to swap.

I know a few guys who install big rig radios. They handle the vibration better, but cost more usually.

Haven't decided if i'm going to steal the bed from my crew cab or not. Otherwise, i want to figure out a way to mount a headache rack up there.

Tinkered with it to make a list of stuff to do, fluids, needs a CDR, minor things. It looks like it has the 7.3 style glow plug set up. The engine was rebuilt by an International Dealer which is neat.

Now, is it a giant pain in the ass to swap my IP/injectors/lines over from the cc to the ext cab? If it matters..keep in mind it would be going from a 4 speed manual truck to an auto with cruise (which i hate and want to rip every last bit of out.) It's got some minor leaks at the injectors on the passenger side of the block, and up at the IP where they ground together. From the looks of it, don't think the IP was rebuilt when the engine was. It will sometimes stall out at idle when you first start it, but start right back up, so i'm thinking it's sucking a teenie bit of air in.

Also, knuckle head snipped wire or two at the alternator. Gonna have to find a diagram to see what they do. Probably done it while installing the aftermarket volt gauge (which reads fine.)

since your rear is dually, you're halfway there already. here's two pics. one is a SRW hub with a dually adapter the other is a DRW hub. post a pic of closer shot of the rear hub i'd like to see if you're a true dually ear or a adapter dually rear. pic on the left is a genuine DRW hub, the pic on the right is an adapter added to a SRW hub.

i'll grab a picture when I swap the rear wheels over. (assuming they swap.) I only want to lift those things as much as i need to lol.

edit: it used to be a wrecker, so i'm going to assume it was probably factory dually rear, and someone just decided to convert it to 4x4, or blew the front end out and that's all they can find cheap.

Still haven't switched tires over. Picked up a injector install kit and should have time to tinker with that tomorrow. Not that I have any idea what i'm doing, but i'll figure it out. Put a new fuel filter on it, holy cow guy says it was just changed (my ass it was), I thought i was going to bust the filter head unscrewing it! It had a puddle of offroad diesel on it too tsk tsk. I'm hoping there's none left in either of these tanks.

So i tinkered through the junk yard and didn't find any 4wd duallys (go figure). So my question, how do I know i'm buying the right adapter? They're pretty expensive and i'd rather not order the wrong ones.

Other than that she's doing alright. Had a coolant leak which turned out to be a worn radiator cap, and a broken resiviour. no biggie. I'm fixing to cut the flat bed off if anybody wants it. I'd much rather through a pickup bed on it.

Gave her and the ol patrol car a bath. Still missing the crew cab, but it's up at my buddies shop still
