Mustang 5.0 HO motor in a 88 F250..?

from what i can remember you couldnt get the 6 in any f350 but e350, and the only way to get one in a 250 was a reg cab long bed 2wd. that was in 93-94ish. neither one of these engines belonged in a heavy work truck hauling or towing over the road. thats what 351,460, 444 was for and did well for the time.

i know it just isn't what you want darren but those little 300s will do the job, not familiar with the injected ones but the old ones where great. put a cam and a 2 barrell manifold w/motorcraft carb on and you have about the same hp as a good 302 and time and a half the torque with more reliability.

300 was F150-F350 and 302 was F150-F250LD.

im glad u guys had expeirence with them over the typical "this engine isnt good because" and never delt with one.

i have a 300 l6 im my f150, have hauled more then the weight of my f150 several times with it and had no issues. i like the 300 l6. id love to see ford bring back the 300 l6 and make it into a diesel. now that would be a fun engine.
