Okay, so I think i really want to do this.... swapping from a C6. Here's what I have:
1) Manual steering column(thanks Nick)
2) Pressure plate, clutch disk, and flywheel from ebay
3) Bellhousing en route(thanks Hahn)
what I know I still need
1) kevlar throwout bearing bushing(from South Bend)
2) Brand new or reman clutch m&s cylinder
3) Junkyard floor pan and pedal assy.
So...am I leaving anything out? What should I look for on the clutch and flywheel to determine if they are suitable to use as is or need repair/replacement? I know it would probably be preferrable to get a whole new clutch pack, but this has low miles and I got it dirt cheap(small budget at the moment) I could replace the clutch disk at least if its a good idea, they aren't too expensive alone.
I was advised to replace the gaskets on the tranny before it goes in since they are notorious leakers, so I'm told. Got any other ideas of what needs to be done? What's teh best procedure for removing the pedal assy and floorpan from the junkyard? Thanks,
JD
