Here at Moose Labs, professor Honey Do and his assistant Beaker are always testing and improving things. One thing that recently came to light with the mods I made to the Moose Truck for the 2010 IDI Weekend, is that you may be starving your Moose Pump under certain conditions. Consequently, I post the following customer advisory:
Moose Pump customers using a Holley Red fuel pump, may under hard acceleration at around 2000 RPM and up loose inlet fuel presure dropping to under 4 PSI due to high fuel consumption rates. This may retard timing slightly, and result in a loss of horsepower. Customers are advised to monitor fuel inlet presure to determine if they are affected by this issue or not. Other fuel pumps including the factory mechanical may also be affected. Filter configuration and fuel tank conditions may contribute to the effect. This condition can be ignored safely if desired, but for maximum performance, your inlet presure should be set to maintain the recommended 5 to 6 PSI.
