Missed a dana 60 at the junkyard. Rust is keeping it!

Today at the pick and pull I tried to pull what was left of a dana 60, but couldn't get it done. All the bolts where too rusty to get removed. I really wanted the springs from it for my 93 as I already have an axle, but no F350 springs. And if I got the works out I would of course brought the 60 home. As it was I grabbed the swaybar from it. I pulled the f350 driveshaft but the cardon was all jacked up so I left it there. Someone had already removed the hubs and spindles so i wasn't too broken hearted as it was just the center housing. Also someone welded one of the spring bolt to the housing when they put running boards on the truck.

I grabbed tons of other stuff for my crewcab so all in all it was a success, but still hated leaving a dana 60 there.

Hey where did you go, maybe I can finish the job sometime. I'd like some heavier springs too.
Just kidding, could a person cut the bolts, then buy new bolts.
Also was that a crewcab you were working on??? Still thinking about a CC on mine, sometime.

/\ Grab them! I just broke the ears of the inner and outer passenger side. Find someone with a torch to give you a hand. I have to say it is one of the BEST tools I bought.

Many recking yards wont allow a torch in them... Set something afire and whos gonna pay for that... Me.. Nope.. I'm already running for the front gate...

Yeah at this place torches and grinders are a no-no. You can do battery powered saws all or drills/impacts. I thought I heard they would let you take a generator and corded saws all or impact in also, but haven't done this my self. I'll probably kick myself for not going back, but the only way that baby's coming out is with a sawsall to cut the u-bolts or cut the spring bolts. It would be a whole afternoon to go there and back. Also they suck for loading stuff. Heavy stuff like that they will drag up front with the forklift, but then you have to load it into the pickup yourself. Not the end of the world, but less than convenient.

I figured by the time they nickel and dimed me for all the brackets and u-bolts I'd probably have $200 in this axle plus 60 for the springs. Then if I wanted to sell it I still would need to round up spindles and stuff. Still cheap for a partial dana60, but not worth the time and money for resell and I really don't need another dana 60 kicking around.
