the '88 leaks/burns about a quart of oil every 500-600 miles on the freeway, maybe a quart every 400-500 miles in the city/mixed not sure. know it could be much worse but would be nice to fix as much leaking as possible. it seems most of the leaks are coming from the top of the oil pan on the passenger side - did valve cover gaskets recently but don't think it was leaking that much from there.
i know to re-bed the oil pan with rtv it's best to remove the engine, so probably not worth doing that right now (maybe in the future for other stuff).
is there any harm in checking if the oil pan bolts can be tightened a bit? my concern would be it breaks whatever seal is around the bolts now and there would be more leaking. but it could maybe help cut down on leaks if they've loosened up.
the current volume of leaked oil isn't terrible but am willing to do any smaller things to help out.

thanks for any thoughts
