Ooooh... heh... it was the bank with the missing clip! DAMMIT! Too bad it just doesn't fix itself now that it's on...

This compression fitting idea is sounding awfully good right now. Money is tight, and ironically, I have a 1000 mile journey to make next week before money becomes no object again. Thank God for the oil fields...

I think I'll get the fitting, toss it in the tool box, and if this leak turns into a miss or get much worse, I'll do a roadside repair.

The compression fitting trick worked like a charm! I broke the end off completely by accident, and was forced to give it a shot.

sweet. I'm curious..do you work in the oil sands or juts a normal oil drilling operation?

Normal drilling, out in Northern Alberta. I'm on a service rig: once the hole has been drilled, we put it into production and get it flowing.
