ok got a knock problem that comes and goes...best way to describe it is when you use throw rod in a can to crank your idi. I trying to figure out if its the pump advance coming on and off or the fact I left one injector in the old engine when it was matched with the ones in my truck?

Not sure what your posting about "left one old injector in engine when replacing". So did you install all NEW and not rebuilt injectors on 7 cylinders but left an old injector in a tuff to reach cylinder? If so then thats your problem of if the injectors were rebuilds they probably are a bad set. No matter what. The symptoms you posted are an injector thats bad and injecting early causing the rod knock sound every once in a while. I suggest replacing the injector you left in. Ask how others have done it.

I'm sorry Gary I didn't make my self clear. When I pulled the 7.3 I took the injectors out and put them in the 6.9 that went in. All were d code but one and it was a bb code. So I have extra injectors so I found another d code and put it in and it knocked bad so I put another in, its better but not right. I left the bb code in the 7.3 that my friend in ga bought. I contacted him and he is sending it to me. I think it the injector not popping in time with the others is causing the knock.

Will a bad injector cause a skip in the engine and exhaust?

Yes they can cause a skip. When an injector does not open at the correct time its similar to a spark plug that wont fire at the correct time.

Thanks Gary...when it it knocks it has a skip in the exhaust while running. I was hoping it wasn't a bad valve or something...
