Make sure you get some diesel into the pump housing for lubrication before you do much cranking. There is likely some assembly lube in there but you will burn thru that quickly. Be sure to fill the filter with diesel or atf. Make sure the lift pump is pushing fuel into the filter. Pull up another vehicle and give your truck a jump start. Hook up the cables and let the jump vehicle run for ten minutes at least so your batteries are topped off enough. Crack open each fuel pipe at the injectors approx 1/2 turn, when u see fuel there, snug them up.

It can take a lot of cranking. Be patient. Do not burn up your starter.

Good luck and enjoy. Having a new IP can be very satisfying. ;Sweet

Assuming you installed it right

Assuming you installed it right ...

How cold is it where you are at ?

Below 30 degrees - plug in your block heater
or get the truck warmer somehow .....

Disconnect the glow plug controller ...

Establish fuel flow thru the filter head, do this by taking a
small slotted head screwdriver and pressing in on the schrader valve
(it looks like the air valve on your rim) while cranking the engine.

Do this with someone under the hood and someone cranking
or by yourself by getting spark across the starter relay on
the passenger firewall (the ignition key has to be in the run
position).

Do not crank more than 30 seconds at a time - rest five minutes
between attempts - make sure your batteries are fully charged.
Once you have a steady stream from the schraeder valve, crack an injector
nut and continue until fuel comes out.

Then tighten the injector nut, hook up the GP controller,
try starting again - do not crank more than 30 seconds at
a time - wait 5 minutes between attempts.

Otherwise you may burn up your starter.

Hold the throttle wide open so more fuel and air pass thru the uel lines. Now a big question to ask. Did you remove the pump with the aluminum gear housing and timing gear still attached... Or did you remove the pump from the gear housing...:popcorn
