Is this behavior normal (revving) ?

Today just out of curiosity I floored the gas pedal for the first time since I own "this" truck (96 F250, bought it in arround april 2014) because i read about the 'skip' at arround 2200 rpm if you have bad injectors.
Throughout the rpm band it revved fine till 3000 rpm and then it revved up to 3500 rpm like a rocket... (no, it didn't run away, it just hits the limiter and thats it - so no worries there )

What does this tell me? Is this normal behavior?

sounds normal to me, although I've never heard of the 2200 rpm skip for bad injectors

Can't say I've heard of that either.
