Sometimes reclocking the shaft the spring is slotted into will give a fully engaged fan. With the front of the fan facing you
and the spring disengaged turn the shaft counterclockwise until it stops (usually +/- 1/2 turn). Re-engage spring in the
slot and re-install the fan. If the fluid is gone this may not work.

Looks like it worked!
I used Honda DPF...feels lighter than 30w...so I filled it plumb full. Seemed to be dry.
If I could understand how, I'd post pics.
Basically did as instructed but I used 1/4 28 set screw, with thread sealer, for a plug. Used the pour spout off of Lucas Oil quarter for my filler...worked great.

Are you using a hosting site or uploading from your computer directly to this site? I use a host like photobucket and then copy the image URL which will look something like this:

If you are doing from computer to the site directly there is a little button to click on when writing a new post or replying that is for inserting pictures, the button looks like a frame with a tree in the middle. choose the file then click upload result should be something like this:

EDIT: I can't even get the direct upload to work.....must be why i use photobucket.

I give up on the pics for now.
The "stop gap" is a confirmed win though. Just pulled 5k (I know it's not much weight) down the highway and through town with the A/C on. She never got over 215 or so (that's "R" on my stupid factory gauge).

Seems like it works better on the highway than it did before...not quite as well in traffic. The oil may be too light.

I'd be hesistant to use too light of oil - lighter oil will leak more and allow more slipage. I think my original issue was putting too much in, not too thick of oil. It's sort of a trial and error endeavor.....

Honestly for me I'm just happy to get the thing to work, and I'd prefer to error on the side of more engagement - it's not going to make that much difference to fuel mileage if you have that bit of extra drag from the fan, but will cause all kinds of problems if it doesn't engage all the way....

Roger that..already leaked enough to quit working properly. Filling it again today.
The new radiator should be here next week...installing electric fans then.
