A friend of mine has a newer MB diesel that needed head work. So he did it himself. Problem he is having timing the pump and Chrysler won't help him out they told him he needs to bring it in. What special tools do I need to get him back on the road and what is the proper way to time the pump.

I don't know much about the Sprinters, but I'm reasonably sure that it's a common-rail engine...so I don't see why the pump would need to be timed. Hopefully someone who knows more about the Sprinter engines can chime in...if it somehow needs timing, you're almost certain to need the proper computer interface and such. Unless he's maintaining a fleet of them, it might be more cost-effective to take it to the dealer...
