Hi all,

Went out the other day to start the 89 F-350 (289Km and this is original ip and injectors) and all I got was one cough and then nothing. Thought I hear some kind of click right after cough.

Pulled a line from the fuel filter and got fuel out upon cranking, cracked nut on injector line and nothing.

can hear ip click upon applying 12v to front connector.

Got new pump from NAPA, and injectors, however the injectors do not have a code on them the I have read about here. Awaiting the install kit for the pump so I know what size 12pt socket to get to remove ip.

A couple of questions: Should I be concerned with the lack of code on injectors, and do I need a special "bent" wrench to remove the nuts on the ip side of the timing gear cover?

Thanks in advance

Lawrence

What are the NAPA part numbers for the injectors you bought? Are they in a delphi box?

The bottom bolt can be loosened with a regular wrench, but be ready for a fight.

What year truck do you have?

The injectors are not delphi, but euklund(sp) PN 2-39053

Truck is 89 as stated in first line

The 12pt socket will be a 5/16 or 8mm. You'll also need a 9/16, a 5/8 and a 1/2. Oh, and a really deep 1" socket for the injectors. Make sure when you're swapping the injectors that all the old copper washers come out of the injector bores.

Pretty much yes. You can either get a cheap 9/16 box wrench, bend it to shape with a torch, then attack it with a grinder. (it will need to be much thinner and you will have to shave down the outside diameter as well)
Or, what I did, get a cheap pre-bent set from HF, then attack it with a grinder.

You may need to wiggle the pump back to get the nuts all the way off the studs. Also, even if you already knew, do NOT remove the gear tower. You will never get the gears meshed back correctly.

As for the size of the 12pt, you can just pull the little cover on the front of the gear tower, and play match the bolt. =P
