Intercooler sizing

Am I wrong to think a intercooler that measures 30x12x3or4 is plenty big enough for a factory turbo 7.3 idi. That's the size of the hyper max. Is their more to it than that?? Obviously plumbing. but size wise.

You need about 750 cfm of flow.

I'd go with the biggest intercooler you can fit between your condenser/radiator and grille

You should be able to make one fit from a 7.3 or 6.0 powerstroke.

I put CSF 6028 (https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8613076&cc=1432134&jsn=1777), see dimensions on that rockauto link. It's a tight fit, wouldn't imagine that you can go much bigger than that. It is very robust and heavy compared to oem...
