So after making my own intercooler system for my truck I know I lose some power and have a hard time on hills, but my EGTs stay way lower. but since winter has rolled around and its 0 to 20 below daily. I am curious to know if I am going to benefit anything from an intercooler at those temps outside? anyone know if i will have low egts towing without running the intercooler?

I can't imagine an intercooler has cost you power, unless it is undersized and too restrictive? How bout some pics and or specs of your system. Is your home made cold air intake actually drawing cold air, or is it simply a big filter under the hood.

Here r some pics. Maybe im losing boost somewhere thru a clamp. I dunno but with 7000lbs in a 4horse gooseneck up a 7% grade. i drop to bout 35-40mph climbing and thats bout the fastests i can get. even on small hills i drop 15-20mph even when i downshift. for some reason i can turn my pump up any the damn allenhead wont seat so i can turn it. not sure why.,

strange that you say your cooler cost you some power. I will never have another idi without a big intercooler.

3.55 gears aren't helping your tow situation. It sounds you could afford to turn up the fuel on the IP if you can. Typically you may lose 1-2psi on an install but with the cooler temps you can afford more fuel to gain those numbers back along with more power.
If nothin else works remove the ugly license plate!

Your wastegate bracket may be flexing and causing some boost loss.
