For Tow Cat and others,

I am going to try to post the pictures of the installation I did in my motorhome.
If this works you will see on the drivers side where the propane line goes into the air intake tube just ahead of the rubber 90. This thing works very well. I get 12+ psi boost and it is quiet.

Yup...it works! ;Sweet
Now you can post pics like the rest of us. This BBS program is pretty cool. ;Sweet Extremely user friendly :hail  :hail
Now about your turbo setup.........
That darn thing ain't wrapped......its f#$%&^$%g mummified    betcha it keeps the heat at a more tolerable level inside the van. The only other time I have seen components that mummified was the rocket boosters the rocket geeks at NASA put together....

Just curious, but wouldn't it make more sense to leave the compressor side unwrapped? That's the side you want cold. Otherwise, looks pretty good. I may have to try it.

Mel,

You are probably right but my reason for doing that was to try and reduce the noise coming into the cab area. My wife and I both hated the roaring sound that came from the intake before the turbo so my plan from the beginning of the turbo installation was to try and get it as quiet as possible. The stuff I used on the intake side is a sound deadening material that is used for among other things boat engine rooms. Its 1" thick and made of several layers of different stuff. It is fairly heavy. Available at marine supply stores. A 12 sq. ft. piece is aboonut $60.00. I probably used a third of the sheet. I laced both sides of the the turbo covering to the turbo with soft stainless steel wire. My goal of noise reduction was a big success. The overall engine noise in the cab is reduced by probably 90 % and we cannot hear the turbo at all. I have a quantity of both the 2000 degree 1" thick blanket and the stuff for the intake side left.

The pipe wrap is Thermotec 2" and came from Summit Racing. I wrapped it with SS wire also to keep it tight to the pipes.

I think the noise reduction was mostly from trapping the intake sound in the turbo and a small part by the wrapping. Just a guess.
