    Having experienced higher boost numbers with stock head bolts and studs on a 6.9 and no ill effects on head gaskets, I am curious where these numbers come from and why they are constantly regurgitated like gospel?

    I agree because I too have read 10 -15 psi max. I know redline is best to leave stock not to push your luck there. I may try 20lbs eventually. :)

    Love this project. Actually love any build like this where you are doing what you dream of doing. Can't wait to see the build come together.

    Sound deadening 5 rolls in. About 40% done I think. Hoping this will eliminate a lot of road noise. IMG_1628.jpg

    Also, found these on the F250. I wonder if the Broncos ever had them from the factory? IMG_1692.jpg

    Cleaned/degreased the front carpet in preparation for painting it black (along with all other interior trim) with the vinyl and carpet paint I have seen it done on YouTube IMG_1701.jpg

    @hce

    There is no exact boost number that lifts heads its cylinder pressure.
    The harder you push(more boost) the more you build cylinder pressure.
    Fueling, rpm, back pressure, heat all play into cylinder pressure
    As a general rule 10-15psi is "safe"
    I have a buddy running 20psi regularly and has seen 24psi on head studs that were torqued to yeild(he did all the calculations on them and found his most clamping force)
    Anyway his is still running great
    I have heard of some people making 25+ psi on 6.9 studs and others lifting at 15 psi.

    I can tell you a 110cc pump will lift heads. I can think of 3 studded 6.9s that have lifted above 20psi.

    It's all a educated guess
