injector question

Not your typical one though.

When I was troubleshooting all of my fueling issues right after my swap, I managed to ****** up the threads on top of one of my new injectors.

My #1 injector leaks a little bit - just enough to leave fuel on top of the engine .

I was given the advice of swapping one of my old injector tops onto the bottom of my BB code injectors. (I think I explained that correctly).


My question is, how do I know what the new one will pop at, since I don't have a pop tester? My second question is, is there anyone in Vegas with a pop tester


Or, should I just hold off untill I can find a new BB code injector, and drive the truck as little as possible?

Also, I just foudn that Midwest fuel injection has BB code injectors for $28/each. I may just order one new one, and not worry about it.

Well, never mind. I found a local shop that will calibrate my 'new' injector for $22. Unless I can find someone in town that can pop test it for free, this sounds like my best bet

Mostly any injector will create the same pop pressure you have in the original damaged injector. You just need to transfer all the internal parts over to the replacement body. Keep it clean and you wont have any issues.

that is about double what it should cost to set it, run it and see if that cyl sounds different. Your pressure should be close to the same with the new parts in the old body.

So, I should pull the the spacer and all the spacers, and see how it runs?

I thought they were a little more delicate than that

If your talking about the shims on top of the spring, heck no, it won't pop at all. one .001 thousands thick shim is equal to 50 lbs pop pressure.

tomorrow, I'll pull the effed injector, swap bodies, and see how it runs, or if it leaks fuel.

Well, it doesn't look like it'll work. the 'e' bodies are completely different than the 'bb' bodies. That makes me sad. I guess I'm ordering a new one after all

They probably arent delphi's, most likely lucas or stanadyne.

The old ones are stanadynes. The new ones are Delphis.

I know, this is entertaining
