Ingenious circle maker

Ok so I was trying to find out if I could fit two 16" E-fans on my radiator, the same side; I decided the only accurate way would be to make some templates and lay them on a radiator. But I didn't have anything to draw circles with, so I made this and thought it might be of future help to some of yall. Oh btw the fans WON'T fit, 15's are outragously priced, so I'm thinkin twin 14's.

All someone needs are some zip ties and an 1/8" drill bit, I drilled out the zip tie head to make it fit then held the point of the bit on the center of the circle.

Every model railroader knows how to do this, but we use a yardstick made for this purpose.

thats how i learned to draft on a board over a decade ago, our tool looked like a little a-frame though.

I just like it because of it's simplicity, everybody has the three items layin around their garage

We do that somewhat often at work using a piece of cardboard or somesuch. Anything to swing the arc. Such a genious idea the first time you see it though!

A small nail will hold the lock up so you can go both ways....
