IDI Wont Start

A friend of mine has a 88 with a 94 engine in it, hes getting fuel to the pump but not out, Im trying to help him other phone. Is there a check valve or something else that would cause this. I dont know anything about these older engines just the Heui system. Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

The diaphram inside may have ruptured and the fuel is now going into the block. Pull the dipstick and see if it smells like fuel.

It ended up being an air lock. His return lines between injectors are leaking a little bit, so we bled the system and she fired right up. Thanks for the help, its greatly appreciated.

He really is going to need to put a new return kit on it to avoid a repeat performance. That's one of the few bad things about the IDIs they really can be tempermental about air in the fuel system.
