I wish I had a turbo today, but she got the job done!

I've been trying to get a spot prepared for the "New" camper and have had nothing but problems.. I've had to dig a level spot, out of the side of a hill and had problems with water and mud... The day after I got it dug out originally, we had a big thunder storm.. Needless to say, the "57" rock I had in it didn't last long. Things worked out for me today, to be able to haul some more rock.. I didn't get 57 stone this time... I got #2 size.. It's the same thing we use as ballast, along the railroad tracks..

I dug the hole out a bit deeper (To get rid of the leftover mud) and got down to hard clay.. I borrowed a Bri-mar dump trailer and headed for the quarry.. The loader driver asked me if I wanted 3 tons of stone and I figured it was a safely sized load.. Pulled onto the scale and found that he had loaded me with 3.11 tons.. Not bad!

I was heading here to dump it and the guy I borrowed the trailer from called me on the phone... "Is that all you got?!?!?!?!" He then said that it could hold a LOT more...

Being NA, this truck takes it time when loaded and pulling..

When I made my second trip to the quarry. I asked for 4 tons.. The loader driver gave me a thumbs up... This time, I could see the load above my toolbox I headed to the scale house and learned that he had put 4.62 tons on the trailer! My combined truck and trailer weight was 19,640lbs...

This trip home was a bit different... The truck didn't like taking off in first at all and the trailer had a tendency to sway.. A turbo would have come in quite handy!

Third and final trip, I asked the loader driver for just under 4,000lbs.. I ended up with 4.52 tons (9,040lbs) of rock... The trip home was a lot like the last one!

I was really impressed, with how the truck performed! My egt's never went above 1,100 and I got down to 2ng gear a few times, to make a couple of hills. Sure wish I had a turbo on this thing!

Here she is... with 9,260lbs of rock in the trailer...

Very nice, the most ive hauled in the bed was around 2.5 tons of rock, but ive pulled a 30ft flatned loaded with around 12k worth of sod. All together It was around 21 to 24k when I finally pulled accross the scales.

Your right its a little iffy taking off in first and kinda slow to get moving, but once of to speed mine was smooth sailing all the way home.

I used a Case version of a Bobcat.. I dug my drainage ditch with one of the railroad's backhoe.

That's a hefty load to be sure. Bet you thought you were in a GP-10. Did you feel like blowing for the intersections? I know I would have. There would not be much stopping going on in a hurry with that for sure.

Actually, it felt more like an RS-11.. I actually did blow for one intersection... I had a woman pull out in front of me and stop

The truck actually stopped a lot like normal.. That trailer has electric brakes and I have the new Prodigy P3 brake controller installed. The trailer has fantastic brakes!
