I can't get it to run on diesel, that's my issue. All the heated lines are heated by coolant flow. I need to get the IP heated up to get the wvo out.

Your pump is clogged. Use a electric pump to force fresh diesel in it. Also crack the line going into the pump to make sure you dont have a simple clog.

I buy non running mercedes diesels that have ****** wvo systems. high success rate for revival :-D

I have two pumps, the mechanical pump for diesel and an electric for wvo.

The mech pump is pushing fuel out the schrader just fine when cranking.

The Shrader isnt the issue.. the hard line going from the filter to the IP. Crack it at the IP and see if its pushing into the IP.

Sounds like the IP has kicked the bucket

In the warm cali sun ive had two IPs quit on me with no warning so your thick nasty wvo isn't helping that poor little rotary pump.

Clean out the line from your switching valve to the ip inlet, then purge it with diesel and hook it back up. Then maybe try dumping hot water over the pump a few times to try and soften the wvo up enough to push it through.

I dont think a photo would do it justice, there are too many lines to see what goes where.

Well since your electric pump is only for wvo id run a ghetto rig of a electric pump with a inline filter and a 5gallon jug of fresh #2... or #1..

If your wvo system is similiar to what I have on my wmo system, sounds like some "returning wvo" might have gotten in your "clean diesel"
IF that is the case make sure you have some good anti gel stuff in the "clean diesel".
Don't know what kind of budget your on, etc, but heres a idea get a heat tape and wrap that thing around the IP, the lines then try to cover it.

BTW heres how I did my wmo, btw go Jacks.

I gelled my '86 6.9 up with #2 fuel. I filled a new fuel filter up half way or better with 911 and spun it on, then dumped the rest of the 911 into the tank. I got it running and used it that day for feeding cows. The next morning it was gelled up again after being plugged in all night. This time I put some gasoline in the tank (an empty Howes jugs worth) and topped off with #1 (about four gallons). It's been running good so far and I keep topping off with #1 each night. When I'm done for the day, I put it in the unheated shop, to keep it out of the wind, plug in the block heater, set a trouble light on the IP, put a magnetic oil pan heater on the fuel filter, and pull a tarp over the nose and cab. I'm thinking the tarp is holding the engine heat in a little longer. I don't know much about running WVO, but with our weather the way it is, I'm a #1 man for the time being.

So I enlisted the help of a fellow diesel head in my area. Got the truck in his garage now with heat blowing on it. We pulled some lines and opened the access port on the IP, We got flow to the IP but it still wasn't pumping, and the flow to the IP was really slow. We will be giving it another shot tomorrow, hopefully the heat does some good.
