How thick is the exhaust manifold ?/Pyro probe Q

I'm about to drill the manifold for the EGT probe, I don't want to go all the way through w/o the engine running and I'd like to start a pilot hole.

Dab some grease on the end of drill bits. It’ll help catch the metal shavings from falling into the exhaust system while drilling.
If your running N/A, I wouldn’t even worry about it. The exhaust will blow all the shavings out the tailpipe.

I think a 1/8" tap is what everyone says. I think I'll just buy the Banks downpipe replacement and add 200-300 degrees.

The manifolds are 3/16-1/4 thick. I drill and tap with it running all the time

That's what I just did after drilling a 1/8 hole a1/16 deep as a location mark.
