I actually have never cleaned it but I look at it every time I change oil or am under the rig.

Not 100% sure on the 2 months, but I watch the screen and if looks like stuff is collecting then I clean it.

I think the bottom line answer, and the one I follow, is that we clean that filter when it appears to need cleaning. After all, that's why they put it in a clear bowl, one where we can see the filter element.

every six months at least.diesel fuel around here i have learned is anything but clean fuel.

That clear bowl just twists off but they are tight. Kind of like a high schooler.... Well you know where thats going. Its righty tighty lefty loosey..

Just Cleaned mine yesterday. Came off pretty easily with a wrench. Refilled with Trans Fluid. Cranked right up. I had it 5 months. I need to drop my tank.

Looks like gold in that filter. Or your tank is rusting out. Where are you buying diesel???
