Well I spent a day at the rally. Best crew of people i ever met. Although they do have wifi at the place they are staying, not everyone is getting signal to log on to the net.

Well, finally got on-line this afternoon.

Well, finally got on line this afternoon. Things are great. Pulled the sled yesterday, had the show and shine this afternoon, then went out and had a group pic with the Ohio valley the background. Very cool. Had my timing checked, within spec, and looking forward to the pot luck dinner. Thanks to those who came down to visit. It was great meeting everyone. More up dates to come.

Had about 15 trucks in the show and shine. Prizes to be awarded tonight for the S&S and Drags yesterday. The big news was Darrin Tosh had a disaster on the way down. Big Ed blew a headgasket and was a no show, much to our all dismay and sadness. The Tosh's are in transit right now and will probably post tonight. The Moose fleet encountered a delay on the way out as well. The Moose Truck stopped for a drink, and after resuming speed on the turnpike, a flip of the tank selector switch caused the valve to get stuck half way between tanks. A total shut off of fuel resulted, delaying us 2 hours as I bathed in diesel fuel on the shoulder of the road. Got the fuel system re-engineered temporarily to complete the trip, and will make permenent repairs here when the parts arrive on Tuesday.

Ah, HAH! See, I was quite certain this is what happened to my truck, but several said it shouldn't have happened. I disected the fuel filter I removed and there was nothing out of the ordinary. Still quite certain that was the cause.

Glad you made it and hope you get the parts you need. I think I heard you all honk as you went through Ohio, but not sure!!! :)

I'm so very glad to see some updates either good or bad. I just like staying in touch and knowing whats going on. About Darrin, did he have a issue with a head gasket leaking in the back before he left for the rally??? If so I really feel for him as working on a truck while on vacation suxs. I pulled both heads on my 454 chevy truck on vacation going home thru Vegas one year. It was August and all I had was a 3/8 inch drive socket set. I rented a torque wrench in the 1/2 inch drive and bought some sockets at Sears to put it back together. That was a hot summer in Vegas for w week extra. Anyway it sounds like most are having fun and I sure wish I was there too. Maybe next year.....

Sorry to hear of Darrin's problems, as well as Mel's diesel bath. Admit it, Mel, you bath regularly in diesel, and you like it.....:)

Didn't Darrin just do some dyno runs? Does he see any connection with the stress of that and the blown gasket? I hope they are not related; just coincidences..

I just made it home - made it in time for my appt this afternoon - boy I was tired though... Stayed up last night gabbing with Nick and Tina until 1am then by the time got racked around for bed it was 1:30 then up at 5 am... boy the drive home was rough... but did grab a power nap of about 40 mins before heading back out again... I will sleep good tonight... But it's well worth it because these rallies are about friends (old ones and making new ones) trucks are sort of a sideline... I mean heck I drive a Goat and I'm still welcomed with open arms.

The chinese grab bag was a lot of fun, and Travis was definitely one of the funest prize mongers.

Goat bath 5$

Goat Vitamins $12

Goat boy at the rally..... priceless. :D

A group of us went Canoeing on the White Water River today. Man, what a beautifull trip. I have a new respect for the Ohio valley. Great area. Barney did us right in choosing this area. Floating down the quite waters, it was quite a contrast to what a monday at work would be like....

Thanks Darrin!

The Leonard family just made it home from the rally. Only an 8 hour drive but well worth twice that for the fun the family and I had and the companionship of our fellow oilburners. A big thanks to ya Barney for putting this one together; Sweet. The trip was uneventful except being run off the shoulder in the fast lane by a white monte carlo who did not look as he cut across both lanes of traffic while getting on the expressway.

Thanks Darrin. You took the words right out of my mouth.

Very Possible Mike, but what did happen is that I blew a Heater Hose on the way home and it got real warm. So it may have been building pressure then, and that was the weakest link. Since it got warm that may have done in the Head Gasket. I didn't get a chance to get all of the stuff fixed on the truck untill the night before so I didin't get a chance to really run it untill we took off for the Rally.

Tim Glad you made it home, Did you get a chance to put a ********* donught on the side of a white Montie,..? Sounds like a close call.

It is always good to see the Goat Boy!:D

Also thanks to the Mods for fixing this thread!;Sweet

we made it home around 630 this evening. This is Danielle by the way, not Aric, and I was informed I needed my own name since I am now posting! Uneventful trip except for about 6 miles from our exit saw a truck on the berm we recognized. One of our buddies in a PSD was having tire problems so we aired him up and he limped to our place to put on the spare on. Had a great time with everyone, wish we could've stayed longer. Have fun and safe travel home!
