You can mild or you can go extreme with the E4OD. The E4 in my 90 is just short of extreme. Frozen or billet parts plus some machine work will make it extreme. When modifying the E4OD you can toss some of the Ford specs out the window.
Tightening the clutch pack clearances and adding more frictions and steels is a must. You can do this with a good kit, but a good machine shop can machine the pressure pates for you. the best thing for the E4 in changing the low reverse clutch pack clearance. Ford spec is nothing.
You will find that round 50 to 60 thousands.
Add a friction and steel, machine the friction plate for 20 to 40 thousands clearance. If you plan on working the tranny hard, use the 6 planet steel carrier. These upgrades plus a Tugger kit will give you full manual control of the tranny with out it frying. Another part to address is the center support. Sonnax make a stabilizer ring for it. It looks like a large snap ring. Follow Sonnax's instructions with this part. It will stiffen the center support, so no more loose support bolts.
None of this stuff is hard to do. As for warranty. I look at it this way. It's the best in the business, because I built it. So if it take a dump I will know how to fix it.
