I'm not sure if a single 2" tail pipe is factory on an idi van but it sure seems like a choker.
Muffler was coming apart so I planned to swap something out. Friend of mine put some sort of fancy muffler on his 2011 ram and gave me the old one. Tight fit and ground clearance isn't the best.
All I need now is another 2" tail pipe and I'll have myself a complete system. I'll post a vid later today of the sound.

Seems like there might be more than a few of the mufflers on craigslist. Who knows. It's a low grade stainless.
Anyone near Madison wi got a tail pipe of a 5.8 obs???? :)

Must be good for another 40hp! :)
Actually I can feel a small low/mid difference. Not much. Just a bit crisper. It's different at max rpm just before the shift. I don't think I gained a lot there just seemed to labor to get to that shift rpm. Now it doesn't. Need another tail pipe. They are like $29

What are you giving it for anti-rejection meds? That ford will probably spit the Chrysler part out along side the road after a good cough.

Hey, I have a Mopar "Power Outlet" flap on my truck's cigarette lighter/12 volt plug LOL

For that matter, what anti-rejection meds are the guys who put 6BT's in their trucks using? :sly

Glasspack?!? :fight::fight::fight:

Forget that...just cut the exhaust off at the downpipe and let it exit under the cab ;Sweet ...that'll do wonders for your ears :shocked: ...wait, what was that? Could you please speak a bit louder? LOL

(Disclaimer: I say that as a joke...I ran my truck like that for 4 years and, between the horrendous noise in the cab and the soot coating the underside of my truck even today, I soundly regret it)

Shoot, when I got my N/A 88, the exhaust ended at the flange on the Y-pipe. Doesn't bother me as I hardly leave anything with exhaust for very long. Every time a buddy or my brother gets a new vehicle, they always ask "can you chop my exhaust."
My first truck was a 79 Chevy C30 4 speed with a tree fiddy, dual exhaust chopped right at the axle. Thing was really loud for what it was. The block and heads were from a 92 TBI engine, thing could Rev out pretty far. Sounded like a dragster. Lol Then I swapped in a 6.2 diesel, thing sounded sweet engine braking at 3k. (Same exhaut, bolted right up lol)
Anywys, back to the point, glasspacks have their place.
Technically all of the factory turbo trucks came with a glass pack, same if the person went aftermarket with the exhaust kit.

Been there, done that. After the turbo swap I had just the downpipe, which ended under the passengers seat. It was LOUD but the whistle was nice. Turned my Tcase and underside of my truck black though. Now I have a side pipe (no muffler) and can barely hear the exhaust, which is fine with me after the experience of just having the downpipe.

My old truck (non turbo) had a glasspack, and Im pretty sure it was 2" exhaust, maybe Im wrong.
