Have this thing hanging down under the dash???

Clutch saftey switch, engine start only with clutch pushed and also deactivates cruise control

Evidently I have issues since the truck starts.

Nothing like discovering all of these little things on a 248,000 mile truck.

I am sure I will have about 50 more of these WTH is this thing. I try to search before asking.

If you look at your picture, someone has cut the wires and bypassed the safety switch. There are a couple wires off to the side wrapped in tape. This is somewhat common when someone replaces the master cylinder and cannot get the switch back on properly, so they just bypass it.

It is a bit of a PITA to deal with.
