I have a squeal that starts at about 2200 rpm on my 7.3l turbo I have replaced the tensioner and the belt and it still does it. when you wind the truck out going through the gears it will do it in every gear and then if you get above 65 mph it starts again and stays until you back down off of it. then if you are stopped and jump on the throttle quickly it will just scream at you. if anyone might have an answer it would be greatly appreciated this thing is driving me nuts trying to find it. -cuss

Thanks
Ramon

are the vee's on the alternator pulley sharp or rounded? If they are rounded (worn) they can slip. Ran into the same thing on a Ford car, installed a new alternator pulley and no more squealing.

My only guess is to remove the belt, and check all your components, see if any have a bad bearing or are just abnormally hard to spin, waterpump, vacuum pump, power steering pump, and alternator.

Good luck.
