I need help locating the source of the annoying squeak/rattle in the cab of my 1990 f250.

Happens every time I hit a bump, but given the condition of Illinois roads it is pretty much constant. Sounds like its coming from under the driver's side dash somewhere. Hard to pin point while driving. Is there anyone else who has dealt with this? Need to take care of the annoyance before it drives me INSANE!!

Check the lower fender bolts. They bolt to the cab down at the bottom and can cause a squeak like described.

try spraying the hell out of all of the suspension bushings with the penetrating oil of your choice to eliminate them

I do believe that's a standard fix along with glasspacks or straight pipes LOL
I'm surprised you can hear the squeak over the wind noise
I haven't heard a single squeak in my truck since the exhaust pipe weld broke off before the muffler right under the front passenger seat :rotflmao

Oh, does your truck have the solid bench seat?
I know mine the coating on the latch is gone, so it's metal to metal, going over rough areas it'll squeak.

Thanks for all the replies! I will definitely check the upper fender bolts as that seems to be the direction of the squeak.

It is a 2wd, so I will inspect the trailing arm bushing as well.

My back seat will squeak occasionally. The latch just won't hold it tight enough.

*Update*

I believe the source of my problem has been located. My windshield was leaking right above the steering wheel so I took it to a glass specialist to have it resealed. Further inspection revealed that it was the original windshield and the black strip around the outer edge had popped loose from the glass. Besides the leak up top, the bottom LH corner had completely separated. This seemed to be the location of my annoying squeak. Needless to say I had to have a new windshield put in. Since then no more leaks and no more squeaks!!;Sweet

I had a squeak right behind my cab for quite a few months that happened on bumps, drove me crazy until I figured out my grandfather stuck a 2x4 between the bed and the cab to keep the front of the bed from bending forwards with a camper in the back lol
