From your pics I agree with whats posted about the roller being bad and needing a cam. Getting this back up running is not a horse race. Please take the time to do it right.. Or be back in this again to replace the cam and lifters again.
About the lifter originally in the engine. Are they roller bearing or bushing rollers? I'm thinking they appear to be roller bearing but too much black oil on them.

That's a steal for a new cam & gear. However, I would vote for buying a new set of hydraulic lifters.

I got new sealed power lifters going in now...the old lifters are a bushing type where the sealed power are needle bearing rollers....

Yep...but however I'm in a time crunch and I've never done a cam before. I bought this truck and the state of alabama doesn't give you long to get a tag and insurance and the title in your name...
