That bumping up the governed RPM was one thing DPS did with the turbo cal pumps, I don't lnow if Mel does this with the Moose as well. I had one of the IH pumps on my Ford as a loaner for awhile. It was strange to drive it like that. I had the 4.10s and C6 in it at the time, no turbo, and it would wind out at 2700-2800RPM and absolutely max out at 71mph. It did have a lot more oomph down low though than the Ford pump. With a Ford pump I could always hit the low 80s in MPH and 3300 RPM

It was kind of funny, back when these things were new, I maintained a fleet of busses with these engines in them, All governed at 27-2800 and when I first got my truck I was driving it the same way. When i first picked up my 5er , all 10 k worth of it ( and this was pre turbo days as well ) I was thinking that this thing wasn't going to make it... down in 3rd gear at the drop of a hat. But after about 150 miles with that load on I finally realized that this thing wasn't castrated at 2700 like I was used to :D next thing I knew I was passing some big trucks ;Sweet

I had GM 6.2 springs in my '85. When loaded heavy I would shift at 3800-4000 Rpm. 4000 Rpm 14lb boost shifts sounded wicked thru the stacks. Mileage sure sucks turning those speeds though.
