Crazy about diesels
I thought our 6.9's had gov's on them if so what rpm are they????
Of course you could find out your govenor is broken also.

wouldn't that suck! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzboom!
just be easy on the pedal when you do this!
that would be around 4100rpm.Makes you wonder when the valves on the IDI start to float. I would bet at that point the kaboom wouldnt be far off.

i like doing absolute limit testing

not on that run. but I do run off the governor on a regular basis.have a vid by chance
Sounds about right...next time I'm down there, I should bring my video-capable camera...there's many local members here who got the t-shirt after they lived to tell about it
well mine must be the 3800 or 4100 level she sits at 3500-3700 all morning(70-85 mph) ... (4:10 ) auto with turbo... funny thing this thing is quiet at that rpms unlike the other 6.9 that sounds like it's coming apart at 2000 rpm I ve got some pics of it let me see if I can find them....
well it still gets 11-13 mpg like this running on diesel or wmo...... i've been thinking of putting a 3.55 in it... or swap out my underdrive(locked in high side) for a overdrive...Ouch. I know what the new Superduties sound like flying by with their new 6.4's turning those ultra low rear axle ratios with the big rims at 75MPH. It's a wonder they don't fly apart. That's a lot of fuel being wasted for sure, and a lot of extra wear going on.
