I think I paid 1200, but I got turbo valves. Seems like a good price.

Turbo valves? I didn't know there was a difference.

I believe that the exhaust valves, at least, were made of iconel. Maybe, it's lack of knowledge speaking here, but that seems to be a little extreme to me. Since aluminum melts at a lower temperature that cast iron or steel, the pistons would melt away before the valves were damaged.
