glow plugs- can zd9 gp's work with a zd1a connector?

I like the connection on the newer zd9 more and would like to replace my zd1a's with zd9's are they the same volts ect.? Will the spade connector have to be changed or will it slide over the zd9?

grab the harness and controller from an 87 up idi and swap everything in. Its pretty much plug and play with new plugs, only difference I have found is that the gp light on early years (yours) is grounded in the dash and hot from the relay, the 87 and later is the oposite. all you need to do is move the wire on the solenoid and it will fix the issue.

how about splicing onto the wire with the zd9 connector and taping the zd1a connector- this way if I need to go back to the older style i can just remove the tape and plug it in.
