ok guys, im ready to do my gas to diesel conversion on my F350. ok now a little background. i bought this trk as a 85 F350. it had a 351w 4v/c6/np208 and it did really good. then i built a 460 (450horse) and a c6 and installed it into the trk, i also installed a 92 F250 body. well the 460 has plenty of power but really bad fuel mileage, 8 no matter how i drive. so now i want a diesel. i bought a 89 F250 for its drivetrain and started rebuilding it and now i have it ready to go into my F350. so im going to take pics of this project from begining to end and i should have this done by the end of the month. the only thing that im trying to figure out is the lift. it sits on 37s right now. i have a 2" add-a-leaf" frt and rear and 3" body lift. i recently purchased a used 6" skyjacker lift but im just trying to figure out what would be the best thing to do. the lift is from a 94 f350 with solid axle frt, mt trk has the dana 50 TTB frt. but i will try and take you guys step by step with the project.

ok my F350 is named "MUDKICKR" hince my forum name, so any time i refer to MUDKICKR, this will be the trk i am refering to. well i removed the fuel tanks from mudkickr today, removed the fuel lines, transfer case, and the wiring that goes from the cab to the bed. i also removed the fuel tanks from the donor trk, fuel lines and frt core support. so all in all a pretty productive day.

Sounds like a sweet project, take pictures and post when you can, I'm super curious on this whole thing.

On the lift, are you wanting to stick with 37's or are you wanting to go bigger? With that 6" under there and your body lift you ought to be able to stuff 40's I'm thinking. I have 8" under mine with not body lift and it'll stuff 38x15.50's easy.

ok i have been working on this trk a lot lately and have a few pics i need to post up. at the time being i have removed the 460/c6 and have installed the 7.3/zf5, also i had to modify my factory trans crossmember to work with the zf5. i know people would have prob just drilled the frame but it was quicker for me to modify the trans crossmember. i also have the fuel tanks in. i have removed my complete wiring harness from headlight to taillight including the dash and have put the clutch pedals in it. since i have always wanted a black interior in my trk i went ahead and dyed the dash black. it looks awesome. i will be posting some pics up as soon as i can. also my trk has a 3" body lift and since i had the engine out i took a sledgehammer and beat down the firewall lip flush so i could have some clearance. i could just about put my arm between the firewall and the engine at almost any point. lost of room back there.
