one ton of fun
So my fuel gauge is in-op..........always reads empty.
I ohm'd the sending units, the rear tank sender is bad..but the front sender ohm's out good at various fuel levels. Checked it at the switcher on frame rail both pre and post and checked good. Checked at pigtail under master cyl and checked good, checked after the firewall into the cab bulkhead and checked good. Pulled cluster and seemed good at the cluster pigtail.
But at the chasing the copper board on the backside it reads off. What is the purpose of the little resistor circuit board on the cluster?
I went to the junkyard and pulled just the gauge itself and replaced to no avail as well as i pulled the resistor circuit board thing from a similar dash (was a gasser bronco but had same gauges). And with the new gauge and resistor board still no workie, everything else in the cluster works fine. I can't find a local cluster for a diesel with the same gauges.
Help?
